Some Twitter clients such as Tweetdeck, DestroyTwitter and some Twitter client applications on Android experienced an error today, it was due to Twitter’s API update to API v1.1, before Twitter still used API v1.
What is Twitter API?
API is an acronym for Application Programming Interface, which is the code and specifications for making a program to be integrated and interact with outside programs. For example, Twitter allows its API to be opened so that it can be developed by third parties like Instagram, Twitterfeed, etc.
Twitter is not secretly updating API v1 to the latest v1.1 API, but Twitter has announced to its developers if they will update the Twitter API. Actually API v1 was turned off by Twitter on May 7 yesterday, but for some reason, Twitter extended the breath of API v1 for 1 month.
But fortunately this API update does not affect other Twitter client applications, it seems that developers who develop third-party applications have adapted to API v1.1
